Supported Scaffold Installer & Remover Refresher

Explain the basics elements of supported scaffold safety and the role of the scaffold user in accident prevention, which includes scaffold inspections, fall protection, recognizing hazards, and responding to emergencies.

8 Hours (excluding breaks and lunch time) SCA-202 0.8 A wallet sized certificate will be issed at the conclussion of the course, which can be used to fulfill requirements of a Worker and Supervisor SST Card. This training course is valid for four (4) years

Upon completing this course, the students will be able to:

  • Describe supported scaffold types and its major components.
  • List OSHA 1926 Supert E, L and M and other safety requirements associated with scaffolds.
  • Outline New York City Building Code supported scaffold safety requirements.
  • Explain the importance of fall prevention.
  • Describe how to properly use fall controls.
  • Demonstrate making decisions about PPE.
  • Identify the limitations of the equipment, proper care, maintenance, useful life, and disposal of the equipment.
  • Practice correct form of inspections and equipment use.
  • Explain the various tubular welded frame scaffold components and parts.
  • Describe the proper safe erection of tubular welded frame scaffolds.
  • Describe the proper safe erection of modular scaffolding system.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

100% attendance of this course is required to gain certification. Students must attend all 8 Hours, and are expected to be on time as per Quantum Safety’s rules.

To fulfill all requirements of both Quantum Safety’s testing and the Department of Buildings (DOB), students must be able to demonstrate they have a achieved the learning outcomes.

To clearly demonstrate these objectives, every student must pass a final exam before certification and achieve at least a 65% passing grade and must be proficient in their hands-on performance assessment on the scaffold.

Note: Final exams can be attempted as many times as necessary.

LATENESS AND ABSENCES POLICY

30 minutes is considered the maximum allowed time for lateness. Any student who is absent for any training, or who shows up 30 minutes after the scheduled starting time will be asked to schedule a make-up training day for the contact hours.

Note: No incomplete contact hours certifications will be issued. Students must make-up any missed time for their courses.
