SST Card

Local Law 196 of 2017 requires certain workers and supervisors to receive safety training at construction sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager. When fully phased-in, Local Law 196 of 2017 will require:

• Workers at certain job sites receive 40 hours of safety training; and
• Supervisors at certain job sites receive 62 hours of safety training.

To verify this training, all workers must carry a NYCDOB Training Connect Site Safety Card. This card will combine all your SST ID card information into one card, and it is the only form of acceptable proof of training that the Department of Buildings will accept. This card will replace all previously issued SST ID cards beginning March 18, 2023.

As a DOB-approved Site Safety Training Course Provider, Quantum Safety is empowered to issue cards to students with valid training certificates and all necessary information. Students who have received their training from Quantum Safety will be provided the opportunity to request an SST card at the conclusion of their training event. Due to the additional resources required to issue cards for students whose training is done with other Course Providers, Quantum Safety reserves the right to charge an additional premium for training verification and card issuance. Card issuance turn-around for Quantum Safety students is between 2-3 business days. All other training provider students are subject to a 5-7 business day turn-around, based on the speed of training verification.

Quantum Safety does offer a rush service, though terms still apply: Quantum Safety students might see a same-day turn-around, whereas students of other training providers can expect to see a same-day to 3 business days turn-around, depending on the speed of training verification. We highly encourage students to include all previous SST IDs, training certificates and all pertinent information to expedite the process.
