Drugs & Alcohol Awareness
The purpose of this course, aims to familiarizing students with the effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace and the problems associated with substance dependency.
We will provide information to help students avoid working while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
This training will also provide information that will help students be less suceptible and be better at recognizing, avoiding and preventing adverse consequences of drugs and alcohol use and abuse, and how the dependence on these substances may affect the lives of others who they know and love.
Finally, we will provide students with information on how to receive help should they or someone they know be affected by a drugs and/or alcohol dependency
This course is intended to increase awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. THIS IS AN AWARENESS-LEVEL TRAINING ONLY and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.

Upon completing this course, the students will be able to:
- Describe the effects of drugs and alcohol in a person.
- Describe the effects of drugs and alcohol in a workplace, including the impact of impairment on workplace safety, increased risk of injury to the student, other workers and the public.
- Apply the given information to identifiable signs of addiction in themselves and others.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
100% attendance of this course is required to gain certification. Students must attend all 2 Hours, and are expected to be on time as per Quantum Safety’s rules.
To fulfill all requirements of both Quantum Safety’s testing and the Department of Buildings (DOB), students must be able to demonstrate they have a achieved the learning outcomes.
To clearly demonstrate these objectives, every student must pass a final exam before certification and achieve at least a 65% passing grade.
Note: Final exams can be attempted as many times as necessary.
LATENESS AND ABSENCES POLICY
30 minutes is considered the maximum allowed time for lateness. Any student who is absent for any training, or who shows up 30 minutes after the scheduled starting time will be asked to schedule a make-up training day for the contact hours.
Note: No incomplete contact hours certifications will be issued. Students must make-up any missed time for their courses.
